Default Distributor, or locking 1 side of a tranny?

I'm stuck!
I have a question, if anyone can answer, i'll love you forever!

..... But really.

I'm building a trophy truck, and my cousin is saying that i'll have to use a distributor too run my drive shaft too my axle. WELL. I was wondering if I could just lock one side of a stadium truck's tranny. (Duratrax Evader)

Cause if you lock one side on a stadium truck tranny, the other side spins but also has the other sides power, so its like...

The left side power + the right side power = MORE POWER! *Grunts*

I really don't feel like buying a distributor, mainly cause they're $50+ bucks.

Can anyone answer this? Please? Thanks!

Well... I have a slash (pede) transmission and I've tried locking the entire tranny. I'm not sure how you will lock just one side of the tranny? But in any case, you can just lock the tranny, and have the driveshaft going out one side of it to connect to your axle.

Hope this makes sense? Lol I try but usually fail

Don't try to lock one side of the tranny, it'll burn the diff out. Just lock the whole tranny with JB Weld

The Vader's ball diff burns out if you look at it funny. Locking one side would be suicide. Frankly I'd use another tranny (Axial) since the Vader's center gear is pretty weak too.

hey, i used a duratrax evader trans in my nitro hummer, i split the case, and ground in a couple grooves on the out cups, and slid a nut and bolt through the main gear, locked up both cups, and put it back together, mind you i'm only using the one side out drive cup for a driveshaft and cut off the other drive cup. but thats how i locked it, and if i were to use the trans in a truck, then it would divert power to both rear tires and shear off the pins and round out the rims.

WISH I WOULDA NOTICED OG POST DATE.
