Question please explain to me why???

Can someone please explain to me why they do this???
And can I do this???

my remote control (wired) tower crane that I bought, operates on 6 AA batteries
they total to be 9volts.

why not just use one 9v battery instead?

does this also mean that I can run the motors from the crane on a 7.2v pack?

A little 9v transistor battery probably can't supply the current needed to run the mechanism.

The motors probably will run ok on 7.2 but not optimum.

ok with that being said...
I bought two motors that are made for a electric mini heli and the heli runs on 11.1 lipos.

they should run nicely on 7.2 as well right?

The motors will run. But they will be under powered which will make them slow and they will have less power

Thanks for the help guys.
I was planning on running them as drive motors anyways, and that's what I needed slow moving!

Thanks again

Nicely right into the ground
Never EVER undervoltage a heli, its the number one rule for heli's. Underpower means underground
