Hi guy's i was wondering has anyone converted the tamiya grasshopper rims to work on a standard 12mm hex? i would like to use them for a build. or can you recommend a rim that would accept the grasshopper tires? thanks!

Nope, they are for fitting Fox/Wild One wheels.

If your application uses normal 5mm axles and dog bones, you could get rere Frog or FAV rear axles and the stock Grasshopper adaptor and swap out the axle itself. The old 3 piece wheels are too thick to drop onto modern axles.

i have seen the rear and center pieces of the wheel with a hex cut into them and a 12mm hex glued in place to make it pin drive. i have not done it personally though.

i did fit some of the scorcher paddle tires on HPI cup racer wheels though.

Frog wheel adapters fit perfect. I've used them on hoppers, lunchbox and a traxxas cat. Sorry, I don't have partnumbers.

Those adapters work but add a lot of offset. I tried them once on Brat wheels.
The grasshopper look similar to the Brat wheels [in how they work and attach]. if they are I bet you can get the rears to work, same as on Brat wheels.

*IF* they are the same as Brat wheels you can cut the back and center part to fit a hex in it. not the easiest thing to do but it is very doable. I've done a fair bit of them.

I checked my thread and sure enough the stub axle isnt long enough for the wheel+adapter.
