Ive never been sick in my life, nor have I broken a bone or really seen a doctor other then for shots, LUCKLY! So its hard to understand what tru medical problems really are until someone humble tells their story

My lead driver at my works brother had his 2nd heart attack this week and isnt expected to make it through the week, so hearing him talk about it really brings this all into prospective.

I wish you the best, but some things are ment to be and we all know where your soul will be for better or worse. Keep fighting bud!!!!!!

KC, words alone cannot express how I feel right now. You and your loved ones are in my thoughts. I only wish there was more that I could offer.

thank you guys... I went for my first scan since they started my chemo about a month ago. they tell me that my cancer hasn't grown any since then (I'm very thankful for that believe me) but that also means that even with the strongest, most effective chemo they have, it didn't reduce my cancer any so I'm left with the reality that I'll be dealing with the side effects of the chemo til I leave this earth... making for a very miserable remainder of my life. not how I want to live... so I have til thursday to decide if I want to live the rest of my life with the side effects of the chemo or discontinue the chemo and enjoy what life I have left without the side effects.

dang man that is horrible. at least it isn't getting bigger though. you are a strong guy, if i were in your shoes i would be freaking out big time. at least it sounds like you got a great family and of corse you always got your scale4x4 family. and if you do decide to keep up with kemo there is a chance that it will make it smaller.

Sorry to hear that, but like Weez said there is a chance that it will get smaller, either way whatever you decide my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Damn man I am sorry to hear that that is a decision you even have to think about. Whichever decision you make, live your life the way you want to live it!

Kincobra, I am a doctor, I dont know if you knew that. I am an Adult Neurology Specialist. Having said that, from what you say, it appears the cancer has come to a stop, or a latency stage. Cancer is basically a bunch of cells that went crazy and started to duplicate in a disorderly fashion. The chemo acts over these rapidly duplicating cells in an effort to stop the process and cause tumor regression. They are strong chemicals as you know, with terrible side effects. But they have, apparently, come to a halt. That is a good thing.

You have an advantage, and that is, your age. Your young, more resistant to disease than a 70 or 80 year old. Discuss with your doctor the possibilities of a second chemo treatment. If it came to a halt...could a second one make it regress?? Give yourself a chance, it would be terrible to think (if it comes too late)....what would have been my chance if a I took that second chemo treatment??

I'm very touched by your story since I'm also 36. I have kids, family and if I ever find myself in such a situation...I would do whatever necessary to see my kids grow old and me growing older with them....This brings tears to my eyes as I type, be strong, don't give up...grab on to life....

ANYTHING you need, let me know. I know the whole crazy bunch of scale4x4 is right there beside you...no matter what part of the world we are.

Dang, KC.

I remember having an emotional conversation with Randy at BBY boats a few years ago after he was diagnosed with colon cancer.

He beat it.

You can too.

It might help to give Randy a call, (925) 689-3725. He's a fellow RC'er and could probably help you out with the thoughts you're having.

Stay strong, KC.

Tim, I can in no way even begin to comprehend how difficult these decisions are for you and your family. Whatever route you take, we just like your real family back you %100. Having said that, I hope to see you on this forum for many years to come, please give the chemo another shot.

I think this first post may help explain to some that weren't aware of Tims ongoing struggles.

Ours prayers are with you and your family Tim!
