Strongest axles for bog body?

So I'm looking at building up a 1/6 scale truck. I have clod, jug/txt, TLT, and twin force axles to choose from. Which would be the strongest? I'm thinking I'll probably go with the jug axles for realism and durability, but is are there any weaknesses I should be aware of?

The other thought is to build up a set of wheely king axles with the steel gears inside. Any opinions on how those would hold up?

I like the idea of the wheely king axles, because I could use a nitro mt front end and do IFS with a solid axle rear end.

jugg axles are absolute beasts. very strong, and will take a real beating. now, if you have jug1 axles, they have weak cases, simply buying jugg2/txt casings will fix that issue, but jugg 2 and txt axles are insanely strong.

twin force axles are also great for big builds.

the clods dont look real at all, toss them in a box and forget bout them. and the TLT's are just too small.

I beat on a set of WK axles with a competition crawler for a while, they take lots of abuse, even with the stock gears. Best part it the fact they are currently in production so you aren't at a loss scrounging for out of production pieces.

With all due respect, Talon, I must concur. There is a huge difference between Jug and Jug 2 axles. The bevels that turn the drive 90° are twice the size in the Jug 2's, and the "pinion" bevel has a longer shaft and a 3rd bearing on the nose of the gear. The housing are different (identified buy "2001" molded on the pieces), but only to accept the larger bevel gears. Jug 1 axles were lucky to last one battery before the bevels started skipping teeth.

Going more for scaleness, and depending if they are Jugg or TXT, use them, but for absolute beef, go Twin Force.

ya know i had totally forgotten about the difference in the shaft and bearing. its been so long since jugg1 parts were even around it slipped my mind totally.

With respect, Jug 1 axles have got to be over 10 years old. With the mix of Jug 2 and TXT axles out there I would think jug 1 axles are about extinct. The chances of anyone owning a set that arent on an OG Jug1 are probably pretty rare.

Tamiya offered free, I think, upgrade kits for Jugg1 owners awhile back.

Yeah, now the upgrade kits are nearly extinct, and probably collectible. No worries, I've got the jug 2 axles that I'll be using, if I ever get around to working on anything.
