Default Axial Yeti For Speed

I just got an Axial Yeti 1/10. I'm new to Axial all together. I feel like this truck needs more speed. Quite a bit more. I'm currently running a 2s Lipo and as far as I know all stock gearing from an RTR version. I'd like to see it hitting at least 35-40mph. I would think the motor is plenty capable and it would be more in the gearing. Am I correct in assuming that? Could you guys give me some pointers on getting more speed. Thanks

That's what I would say you need. Although I can't tell you if you have much for gearing options. I would say try a short course truck system, but I doubt your gearbox could handle that much power.

The stock yeti trophy truck (based on the 1/10 yeti parts) is said by axial to hit 32 mph with a 3s lipo and 21t pinion/64t spur setup.

if true speed is what your looking for switching to a brushless motor/esc setup might be in best interest, heck the stock slash can hit 35 all day long on 2s from what I have seen/remember.

You can use high KV brushless motor with 3s Lipo for high speed. Make sure that you have an appropriate ESC to handle this combination.
