Talking This Kit.

I have just received my kit from you, and am very impressed with it, not only was it VERY well packaged, but inside of the box, every item was labelled, and described, so I didn't even have to open the packets to tell what I had in my hand. the quality of the parts is great, and I cant wait to start building!
P.S if possible, could you post a link to the hydraulic parts that you bought for your machine.
Many Thanks!

Great news Tidy Parts. I have email'ed you the list with all the parts used on my personal excavator.

I am looking forward to see your build log on this forum.

Here is today's status update on my build (apologies, no pictures today)

I have received all they hydraulics except for the pump. The cylinders are already fitted on the model. I will continue to finish the work on the hydraulics as soon as the pump arrives.

The motors are fitted to drive the tracks. I have good quality tracks on order and expect the delivery still this week.

I do still need to buy the controllers for the drive motors. That's the final thing to do in order to get the model up and running.

I know there are cheap hydraulics kits etc. on the market for less than 300 euros, but I decided to buy good quality parts to finish of my personal model as i want to enjoy it for a long time.

On top of my alu parts kit, I spent a total of approx. 1500 euro to finish it off with good quality materials. I don't have a lathe, otherwise, I would have been able to shave off several hundreds of euros making the cylinders and steel rollers myself. So that means that I will have good value for money excavator.

rgrds.

I have did an upgrade of my excavator. Here are my new tracks...

Tracks without the tension system installed

picture with tracks on tension

detail of the spring loaded guide wheel

I have did the layout of the components. Still need to thing about the most efficient way the have everything neatly fitted in the model.

I did come across a problem with the pump and motor connection. I received the pump and motor from Leimbach today but I believe something is missing to connect both together.... anyone knows what is missing?

not sure i can see what is missing.is it not a direct drive from the motor shaft to the pump drive? Does one not just fit into the other?

I have tested the motors and tracks today. The tracks are working really well.
For the LED lights, I use a Robbe module to control 2 light groups.

Here is a short video:

The motors I used are the RB-Cyt-27 from Cytron (12V 130RPM 8oz-in Spur) but they are way too WEAK !! So I will have to look out for an alternative motor, preferably small AND powerful.

The motor on the 360 swing from CTI-Modellbau is also too weak. I am thing to use an RB35 motor that drives the CTI pinion via a wormwheel.

I decided to give my excavator a paint job . I've now completely taken it apart and am preparing everything for the primer.

I'm still waiting for the missing pieces for the motor / pump. The pump came with a speedcontroller for the motor. I still have to check if has BEC in it or not. I also purchased the optional module that allows the motor to run with 2 speeds so that the pump does not always have to run at full speed.

I'm controlling the excavator with a Spektrum DX6i and 2 receivers (Dig and Drive)

The Drive receiver will control the 2 motors that drive the tracks, the swing and the lighting.

The Dig receiver will hold the 3 dig movements (boom, arm, bucket) and the pump. according to the instructions I will need a multiswitch in order to allow to control the 2 speeds for the pump.

If I understand well, the optional 2 speed module can not be connected to the receiver. It needs to be controlled by the multiswitch.
