Default Just another SCX-10 Hilux.... now rollin' on 1.55 inch wheels

I have been working on this truck since March I guess one day it will get finished up.Yea another build !!! When I got my SCX-10 I tore open the box that the truck came in to check out all the goodies. All I can say is Axial did a dang good job with this kit. I can remember the days of searching for weeks and months to get the parts to build a scale rig with. Now Axial has a McD's scaler.

To start this build off I had the chassis sandblasted and powder coated flat black. I also had the bead lock rings powder coated mirror red.

I dug out all the stainless steel hardware from my tool box for this build. I was lucky, I had just enough to build the truck with stainless steel hardware everywhere. I also use a Hand Brothers steering kit which is a very nice product that seems to work very well.

I replaced the stock axle c parts with RCP Crawlers axle c's and the high steer knuckles came from Vanquish Products. Yea, I know hi steer knuckles on a scaler. I also installed some Axial cvds in the front axle for smooth turning. I added RC4WD 110 mm scale shock to replace the stock Axial shocks and to improve the looks.

In the rear of the truck I added a aluminum upper four link mount that was powder coated flat black.

I am still waiting on a few parts and the rest of my electronics. I will be using a Castle Creations Sidewinder on a 3s lipo. As for the motor I will be using a cheap 35 turn motor. I will also be using my DX3R to control the truck with.
The body with be a Toyota Hilux body that I picked up off of Flea-bay. I will the using the 3 racing Warn winch for looks and a little luck if the truck gets in a bind.

And so starts the tube work.

I will be doing a drop bed and full interior from a O.G. Bruiser, this is just a start.
The truck will have front and rear bumpers with a 3racing winch mounted on the front bumper.

The front bumper

Trying to build this truck bullet proof.

With my driving style I knew just a butt braze would not last long.

This is also the front cross member as well.

Gotta have a flex shot or two...

I shaved up the extra holes in the cab to make the body look cleaner. I need to work on the body lines to make them match up better.

Spare tire and Hi-lift jack, check. "thumbsup"

Some up skirt shots.

I still need to finish up the inside of the bed and get some paint on this truck, it will be done one day.

Well one slip of the Dremel and there is no turning back now. I was trimming out the rest of the bed and going to start on the inner bedsides and tailgate. The Dremel got into the tailgate pretty good soooooo......

Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture.

When it comes to styrene work I am nowhere near as good as 1BJB,microgoat,or exesivefire, but I try. After the Dremel got to close to the tailgate, well the tailgate came off. I am working on the drop bed. I completely the cut the bed apart and started with the two bedsides. I still have got to put the ribs down for the floor of the bed and clean up the top of the bed rails as well.
