Also got the tail lights painted up... Tamiya clear red and clear orange on clear styrene... forgot to take pics of the procedure as it’s the first time I’m painting lenses with the airbrush and was anxious to see how it turned out...pretty nice I think...lol! I think I thinned the paint a bit too much as it took 12-15 coats to get it to where it is...

Anywho here’s a few pics.... watcha think?

Yep...got the decals all stickered on... they turned out pretty sweet! The front fender ‘Sandman’ sticker is a little to big, but my Aussie buddy says he will do a resize and reprint for me! Sweet!

Anywho... here’s some pics of the decals... watcha think?

Hey thanks Fred ! Yeah the shifter came out pretty neat! Really thought that I would have screwed it up when painting it, but turned out nice!

Ive been so excited to see them decals on car since you did the photo shop pic of creating them.

Brings out the body lines perfectly.
Theirs just not enough room on this page for all the Dancing bacons.

Over the top Trini..over the top!

Hey thanks 2Beers! Yeah... them decals are the shiznit! These were the pre cut ones, although he also sent me an un-cut set, just didnít have the patience to cut out each letter and align them...lol!
Still need to send out the roof buck to you, been trying to think of a way to make a buck for the curved windscreen... if thatís even possible lol. If it works, do you think vacuum forming clear styrene is feasible?

Wow, there's the Mad Max van! A RWD version will really make fitting the engine in alot easier.

Fabulous work on the shifter. That definitely looks the part. Well done Preston.

Whoa nice work on the tail lights!! And I love the look with the lights and all the awesome decals, it finishes up beautifully, truly a gem you built yourself!! And what to say about the look of that on road mock up, I dig it, a lot!! Wheels look awesome, kind of retro modern look, like having maybe 16s or 17s wheels on 1:1, but with a classic wheel style. I think I'm in love with that on road look.

I am sure it will be evolving over time, but would you say you are nearing completion? What is left to do on it before you consider it completed? Other than molding pieces from it to make other ones hahaha

You got me searching for pics of sandman on 17s or 16s to see if it matches the look, not much success but did find some pics showing how awesome your work is! Lol some are not the exact same year model but still shows how you nailed all the details!

And even the pole and the interior in the back looks just like yours! Crazy lol!

Hey thanks Fred ! Thanks for the great pics! First time I’m seeing that one with the pole I can’t believe it! I was actually modeling it after this one...
Edit - Actually I think it’s the same one lol!

The street version looks pretty sweet!

Still have to put the gauges in the dash as well as the badges etc. radiator hoses, overflow bottle etc...still need to try casting the flares in rubber resin...want to try to make a forming buck of the windscreen to try getting it vacuum formed out of clear lexan or styrene...tailgate window and handle... I forgot to make the recessed area in the back for the license plate...not sure how to deal with that ...lol!
