Default 1/16 Bucyrus Monighan Walking Dragline

First time on this site some of you guys know me but I'm a refugee from Garden Trucking. This is my build of a 9W Bucyrus-Monighan walking dragline that I've been building for about 8-9yrs now. The dimensions are: 150''L x 45''H x34''W the boom is 120''L It weighs about 190lbs now. I have it operational now and still need to build the boom and finish the bucket. There are several pieces that need machined on the house also.

All right, you're nuts. Ought to fit in well around here

Is this going to turn into one of those "I built a boat in the basement and now I can't get it out" stories?

Welcome to scale4x4rc Steve! The 9W looks great

If you ever have the time it would be nice if you could post up some/all the machining you did to build this.

Oh, and maybe post a pic & vid of your Mule in the 1:1 rides section. I keep meaning to ask you for better pics of it.

Hello Scott, Steve IHbuilder sent me over to this forum. You know this weekend is the National Pike Steam show near Brownsville,PA and I'm taking my dragline out and give it a try in real dirt.(If it don't rain) I tried to get Steve to drive out but he can't You should come and bring your Trucks and Whizzer bicycle.

Wow! I don't know what else to say. If only I had a mill like the one you do in the back ground! This is amazing.

Hello Tom. I already broke the new bellow coupling in the first 5min of operation. I ordered another aluminum like the first one and now in the process of aligning the two shafts so we don't break another. This has turned out to be just like a typical Gov't job that goes way over budget...Now I have about $130 in parts and lots of time

I got the new flex coupling installed on the load drum pinion this evening and now I need to go get my forklift to lower it down to the floor so I can walk it into it's shipping crate. Moving this thing gets to be a project. Here's a couple more pictures of the load pinion.

Damaged parts.
